Cardamom

Cardamom is a fabulous and exotic spice that grows in Guatemala, Sri Lanka, Southern India, and Tanzania. It has been used in many applications throughout history, including oral hygiene for the ancient Egyptians. In some Middle Eastern countries, cardamom is a spice of privilege and is served in Arabic and Turkish coffees as a gesture of hospitality. Cardamom is quite expensive, only surpassed by saffron. Where it grows abundantly, many people chew it for its fine flavor and stimulant properties.
